Radiation Oncology

Our team of expert physicians, oncology-certified nurses and technical specialists were among the first to use some of the most advanced breast, prostate, brain and lung radiotherapy techniques available today, including the Novalis Shaped Beam Surgical System. This revolutionary treatment is sued for a variety of cancers including tumors that are not accessible by conventional surgery and otherwise considered untreatable. Novalis radiation therapy is painless, fast and typically enables patients to return to their routine the same day.

About Radiation Therapy:

Approximately half of the people diagnosed with cancer will receive radiation treatment either by itself or in addition to surgery, chemotherapy or other treatments. Radiation therapy provides precise, targeted radiation for treating many types of cancer. Radiation therapy, or radiotherapy as it often is called, uses various forms of radiation to safely and effectively treat cancer and other diseases. Radiation therapy may be used to treat almost every type of solid tumor, including cancers of the brain, breast, cervix, larynx, lung, pancreas, prostate, skin, spine, or soft tissue sarcomas.

Radiation therapy can be delivered in two ways, externally and internally. During external beam radiation therapy, the radiation oncology team uses a machine to direct high-energy X-rays at the cancer. Internal radiation therapy, called brachytherapy, involves placing radioactive sources (for example, radioactive seeds) inside your body.

Our Technology:

As a recognized leader in cancer treatment, these high-precision techniques enable the delivery of higher doses of radiation with a dramatic reduction in side effects compared to convetional treatment.

We Can Help You If:

  • You have been diagnosed with breast, ovarian, prostate, colorectal or head and neck cancer.
  • You are in pain. Radiation has shown to be an effective treatment for some types of cancer-related pain.
