Minimally Invasive Orthopaedic Specialist 

Dr. Firestone is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in adult reconstruction surgery. His practice is limited to hip and knee replacement with special emphasis in complex joint reconstruction and revision surgery. Dr. Firestone has office locations in Phoenix and Scottsdale and performs surgery at the Scottsdale Healthcare Shea campus. 

Dr. Firestone moved to the Valley in 1990 after completing his fellowship in joint replacement and reconstructive surgery at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. Prior to that, he completed his orthopedic residency at New York University Medical Center and was a chief resident at Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan. 

Dr. Firestone is a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons and has presented original research at national meetings, including the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. Dr. Firestone was also listed in Phoenix Magazine's Top Doctors for 2006. In addition, he has served on the editorial board of the Journal of Arthroplasty since 1990. 

John Bradway, MDJohn K. Bradway, M.D.

Dr. Bradway is an orthopedic surgeon with special interest in adult reconstruction, including hip and knee replacement procedures. He has been in private practice in the Phoenix area since 1988, now with his sole office in north Scottsdale, and performing surgery at the Scottsdale Healthcare Shea campus. 

Dr. Bradway attended the University of Arizona College of Medicine where he graduated as valedictorian of his class, receiving the prestigious University of Arizona Foundation Award in 1983. He was also a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, the national honorary medical fraternity, for excellence in medical schoolwork. Upon achieving his M.D. Degree, Dr. Bradway attended the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota for orthopedic training from 1983-1988. While in Minnesota, he published and presented a number of clinical and research works on a variety of orthopedic topics. 

Dr. Bradway became American Board of Orthopedic Surgery Certified in 1990, and recertified in 2000. Additionally, he now serves as an examiner for the Board. He is an Active Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons in addition to numerous other professional organizations. He is frequently named in Phoenix Magazine's Top Doctor’s issue as well as the national Best Doctors listing. 

Sherwood Duhon, MDSherwood Duhon, M.D.
Minimally Invasive Orthopaedic Specialist 

Dr. Duhon is a board certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in adult reconstructive surgery of the hip, knee and shoulder. 

Dr. Duhon holds a bachelors degree from Ozark Christian College and a Bachelor of Science degree from Oral Roberts University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He graduated with honors from the University of Oklahoma Medical College and is member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. 

He then completed residency training in orthopedic surgery at Texas A&M University with training in trauma and children’s orthopedics at Baylor University in Houston, Texas. He then moved to Phoenix in 1991 to complete additional fellowship training in adult reconstructive surgery. Since then he has been part of The Orthopedic Clinic Association and performs hundreds of joint replacement surgeries per year. He practices at Scottsdale Healthcare. 

Dr. Duhon’s experience in joint replacement has enabled him to serve as a consultant for various orthopedic implant companies. He travels nationally to demonstrate and lecture on minimally invasive techniques for knee and hip reconstruction. 

Vincent Russo, MDVincent Joseph Russo, M.D., F.A.C.S., F.A.A.O.S.
Minimally Invasive Orthopaedic Specialist 

Dr. Russo received his M.D. from Albany Medical College, Albany, N.Y. in 1976. Dr. Russo was a surgery intern and resident at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Pittsburgh in 1981. 

He has been honored by Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, The American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons, The American Association of Family Practice Recognition in Teaching and for orthopedic resident teaching at Crippled Children’s Hospital, Phoenix. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. 

Dr. Russo has served as president of the Arizona Orthopedic Society and president of the Western Orthopedic Association (representing the western 14 states). He is Arizona’s Counselor to the Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He is past president of the medical staff of Scottsdale Healthcare Shea, and has served as Board Member of the Maricopa Medical Society and Arizona Medical Association. 

Dr. Russo is the author of numerous publications and is a faculty lecturer for orthopedic workshops. He has pioneered limb-lengthening techniques in Arizona. He has been named in Phoenix Magazine’s TOP DOC and is the subject of numerous newspaper articles highlighting his work. 

Janet Whirlow, MDJanet E. Whirlow, M.D.
Minimally Invasive Orthopaedic Specialist 

Janet E. Whirlow, M.D. is a board certified orthopedic surgeon. Dr. Whirlow completed internship residency and fellowships at the University of Pittsburgh and began her surgical practice in Arizona in 1995. She recently completed a fellowship at the University of Arizona to study the application of complementary and integrated treatments to arthritic care. 

Dr. Whirlow specializes in care and surgical management of the adult arthritic hip and knee and has office location on the Scottsdale Healthcare Shea Medical Center. Dr. Whirlow was named to Phoenix Magazine’s Top Doctors for 2005.
