Geriatric Fracture Program
Scottsdale Healthcare’s Geriatric Fracture Program is dedicated exclusively to the care of patients over the age of 65 who suffer fractures. By treating elderly fracture patients quickly and more efficiently, evidence shows patients can recover faster and have a significantly improved quality of life.
Our Geriatric Fracture Program improves the outcomes of geriatric fracture patients by:
- Streamlining the admission process
- Getting them into surgery quickly
- Reducing adverse effects such as delirium and pressure ulcer development
- Assisting them in achieving independence again after surgery
We have a comprehensive team of nurses, physicians, anesthesiologists, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, physical therapy, nutritionists and social workers who are specially trained in orthopedic and geriatric care. Together, this multidisciplinary team will provide the highest level of care to our elderly patients who experience bone fractures.
Elderly Care is our NICHE
Because of our commitment to providing quality care to our elderly patients, all three Scottsdale Healthcare campuses have been awarded designation as NICHE (Nurses Improving Care for Health System Elders) hospitals. This is the only national designation indicating a hospital’s commitment to elder care excellence, and it means that our hospitals have met the criteria for providing optimal care to the geriatric population.
