Level 1 Primary Stroke Center Designation
Scottsdale Healthcare’s Osborn Medical Center is a Level 1 Primary Stroke Center, with Disease-specific Certification from the Det Norske Veritas (DNV).
This recognition comes from the nation’s predominant standard-setting and accrediting body in healthcare, and demonstrates a commitment to excellence in providing stroke care. The designation was conferred in July 2010, after the Stroke Center demonstrated that it meets the required standards for stroke care and patient safety. It reinforces the commitment of the physicians and staff to comply with demonstrated standards that have been shown to improve outcomes for stroke patients.
Prior to becoming a DNV Healthcare certified Primary Stroke Center, the Stroke Center at Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn Medical Center was designated as a Primary Stroke Center in May 2005 by the American Stroke Association (ASA). In addition, the program has been recognized by the ASA's Get with the Guidelines program, and received a silver-level award in Spring 2010.
