Therapy and Services
Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn Medical Center’s Neurological Rehabilitation Center offers various therapy options and services. After obtaining a referral from your physician, the first step is to complete an initial evaluation with physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. On the day that the therapists complete the evaluations, they will discuss their recommendations with you and your family. and an on-going schedule will be recommended.
Some therapy program options include:
Comprehensive Day Treatment Program
Designed for patients with acute brain injuries and acute stroke patients working toward increased independence at home and in the community, the Comprehensive Day Treatment Program is six hours and includes:
- Individual physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy,
- Supervised practice times with the therapy technician,
- Morning cognitive/communication group,
- Supervised meal/lunch,
- Community outings,
- Home evaluations when appropriate
Half-Day Treatment Programs
The Half-Day Treatment Program is designed for patients who need comprehensive services 2-3 days a week who may not need the intensity of a full day or may not be able to tolerate a full day. Scottsdale Healthcare offers interdisciplinary treatments convenient for the patient with consistent scheduled blocks of time.
Personalized Treatment Programs
Many individuals require only one discipline of therapy such as speech therapy for cognitive training or only physical or occupational therapy to address progressive Parkinson’s disease issues. We provide custom treatment programs to meet these needs.
Stroke Support Group
Led by our speech and language pathologist, the Stroke Support Group meets the first Wednesday of every month from 5:45 to 7 p.m., at the Therapy Services building located at 3134 N Civic Center Plaza, Scottsdale. Stroke survivors, their families and caregivers are welcome. Call 480-882-6821 to reserve your space.
