The Graduate Medical Education department at Scottsdale Healthcare provides educational opportunities in continuing medical education (CME), graduate medical education (GME), predoctoral medical education and mid-level health professional education. Helping to address a state and national shortage of physicians, our goal is to ensure skilled and knowledgeable healthcare professionals are available in the future to care for patients.

Scottsdale Healthcare is a member of the Council Of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems (COTH), a designation held currently by 400 major teaching hospitals and health systems in the United States. Sharing their expertise, 175 community physicians (primary care and specialists) enthusiastically serve as preceptors for our programs.

Medical schools from across the country send their third- and fourth-year students to Scottsdale Healthcare for clinical rotations every academic year. Students from foreign medical schools also participate in our graduate medical education programs.

Scottsdale Healthcare’s Graduate Medical Education department has affiliation agreements with medical schools, physician assistant schools, surgical nurse first assist schools, and nurse practitioner programs. We also have institutional agreements with universities, colleges, hospitals and residency programs in the Valley that provide vital medical education training opportunities to the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Scottsdale Healthcare is proud that many students join Scottsdale Healthcare as clinical team members after completing their education.
