Spirit of Philanthropy Award

In honor of National Philanthropy Day on November 15, 2006, the Greater Arizona Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) will present the Spirit of Philanthropy Award to individuals and groups, who, through their hard work and dedication, have enhanced philanthropy in our community. James and Nancy Farley will receive a Spirit of Philanthropy Award at the 2006 Philanthropy Leadership Awards Dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Farley were nominated for the award by Scottsdale Healthcare Foundation. The couple was honored for their exemplary support to Scottsdale Healthcare Foundation.

Their visionary decision to make a major gift commitment to support the integration of the echocardiogram into the Cardiovascular Picture Archiving Communication System (CV PACS) at Scottsdale Healthcare’s Osborn campus will have a lasting and significant impact across the organization. The Farley’s commitment to ethereal information technology – not a bricks and mortar structure that would memorialize their donation – is a much more important gift to physicians and their patients because it is a knowledge gift. Their legacy will further enhance the field of cardiodiagnostics, enabling physicians to make more precise and timely diagnoses, thus allowing them to implement care and improve the quality of life for Scottsdale Healthcare’s patients.
