What is Scottsdale Healthcare Foundation?Through Scottsdale Healthcare Foundation, generous philanthropic support from the community continues to enhance patient services throughout the Scottsdale Healthcare system. Each contribution is a significant investment in the health and well-being of our community. Keeping up with technology and adding new programs and services requires innovation and expansion. At any given time, numerous projects are underway that depend on community support. Among the projects initiated by the community is a managed endowment created to keep programming and technology on the cutting edge. The impact of philanthropic support can be seen throughout all Scottsdale Healthcare facilities. Should all private gifts to Scottsdale Healthcare be directed to the Foundation?Yes, Scottsdale Healthcare Foundation was established in 1984 to receive and administer all private gifts to benefit Scottsdale Healthcare. The gifts are managed by the Executive Staff of the Foundation. However, it should be noted that gifts in kind (i.e., equipment, art, and so forth) are gifted directly to Scottsdale Healthcare if used in Scottsdale Healthcare’s operations. If a donor cannot make an outright gift at this time, are there other ways to support Scottsdale Healthcare Foundation?One way is through a planned gift. Planned gifts are a critical component of fundraising because they can be tailored to the financial, tax and estate planning needs of the donor. The options include bequests through a will or living trust, charitable remainder unitrusts, charitable remainder annuity trusts, charitable gift annuities, deferred payment charitable gift annuities, charitable lead trusts, and remainder interest in a personal residence or farm. What are the tax benefits of making a gift to Scottsdale Healthcare?Every gift made to Scottsdale Healthcare is tax deductible. However you choose to make your gift, Scottsdale Healthcare Foundation mails a receipt to you for your tax records. For planned gifts, there may be other, more tangible benefits. Scottsdale Healthcare Foundation is a non-profit, 501(c) 3 organization. From whom does the Foundation receive its support?In 2007, private support for Scottsdale Healthcare Foundation came from the following sources: 66% from Individuals; How does the Foundation recognize donors?Scottsdale Healthcare Foundation appreciates and recognizes gifts of all sizes, and all donors receive a thank-you letter and tax receipt. In addition, Scottsdale Healthcare Foundation recognizes contributors through membership in the Circle of Distinction, inclusion in Heartbeat, Scottsdale Healthcare Foundation’s donor recognition publication, as well as permanent listing on the Donor Recognition Walls at each of our hospitals. What are the Foundation’s donor protection policies?In addition to the HIPPA Privacy policy, Scottsdale Healthcare Foundation adheres to the principles in the Donor Bill of Rights developed by the Association of Healthcare Philanthropy. Can I make a gift in honor or memory of someone? Will the family/individual be notified?Yes, a memorial or tribute gift can be made using our online giving form. You can indicate whom you want us to notify and we will send that person or family a letter acknowledging your gift (the amount will remain confidential). What are the different ways I can make a gift?You can give online: Our online giving form allows you to make a secure credit card transaction. You will receive an immediate e-mail confirmation, as well as a separate gift receipt mailed to you for tax purposes.
