The Balance and Mobility Center

Have you experienced dizziness, felt unsteady or off balance? Does the room spin sometimes? If so, you may have a balance or vestibular (inner ear) disorder.

According to the National Institutes of Health, 90 million Americans will complain to their doctors of dizziness at least once in their lifetime. Some common disorders associated with inner ear damage include Meniere’s disease, benign paroxysmal positioning vertigo (BPPV), and labyrinthitis. Conditions such as stroke and cardiovascular disease, multiple sclerosis, migraine, arthritis, diabetes, visual problems, and orthopedic injuries, also can contribute to a balance dysfunction.

The good news is your balance system, also referred to as vestibular system, can be improved.

Contact your physician if you have feelings of unsteadiness, imbalance, spinning and/or dizziness for a referral to our program.
