Cancer Research at Scottsdale Healthcare

The Virginia G. Piper Cancer Center at Scottsdale Healthcare is home to groundbreaking clinical research studies of new therapies for treating cancer.

Participating in clinical trials is an important way to help in the fight against cancer. More than 45 first-in-human, and many first in the world, clinical trials of new therapies have been introduced here and available locally for Arizona cancer patients.

We take the fight against cancer personally, looking at ways to use science, technology and personalized care to target tumors in each individual patient.

Treatments are tailored to a patient’s particular disease characteristics rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach. By identifying the causes of the disease at the molecular level, it is possible to prescribe the right drugs in the right amounts at the right times.

Chief Scientific Officer Daniel Von Hoff, MD leads cancer research at Scottsdale Healthcare through a collaboration with the Translational Genomics Research Institute. Dr. Von Hoff and his team sees patients in its clinic, TGen Clinical Research Services at Scottsdale Healthcare, located in the Debi and Jerry Bisgrove Research Pavilion of the Virginia G. Piper Cancer Center.
