Orthopedic patients often arrive through the hospitals’ emergency departments with broken bones from various types of accidents or sports injuries. We have a team of highly experienced orthopedic surgeons who provide orthopedic emergency care at all of our hospitals. 

Orthopedic Trauma 

Trauma is defined as a severe injury that may cause death or significant disability. The most common causes of trauma include motor vehicle accidents, falls, burns, knife and gunshot wounds and sports or recreational injuries. Traumas often result in bone and joint fractures and dislocations. 

Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn is a Level I Trauma center. This designation means we provide the highest level of surgical care to our trauma patients. Our orthopedic trauma team is made up of dedicated physicians, nurses and physical and occupational therapists, who work together to care for trauma patients’ complex needs. 

Orthopedic Trauma TeamScottsdale Healthcare Osborn is the only Level I Trauma Center in the state of Arizona with three orthopedic traumatology fellowship trained surgeons providing emergency care for orthopedic injuries. This level of expertise in orthopedic trauma and fracture management is vital in ensuring that our patients receive the best possible care to help maximize their recovery and speedy return to normal activities.
