Education & Research
In addition to providing high quality clinical care for orthopedic trauma patients, the Orthopedic Trauma program at Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn Medical Center is also very involved in orthopedic trauma education and research.
Since 2006, the Orthopaedic Trauma Department staff have had over 15 national and international research presentations including podium and poster presentations at national and international meetings. Drs. Ortega, Rhorer and Miller have presented over 100 orthopaedic trauma presentations all across the United States as well as in Canada, Germany, China and Australia. They have also had 14 publications in peer-reviewed orthopaedic journals with innovative research including the use of intraoperative computer navigation and CT, orthoinformatics, and complex pelvic fracture treatments.
All of our orthopaedic trauma staff are also active in the major orthopaedic organizations such as the Orthopaedic Trauma Association (OTA), American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), Southwestern Orthopaedic Trauma Association (SWOTA), and the Arizona Orthopaedic Society.
