Leadership Team
Jerry Beckermann, PT, DPT
Jerry is the manager of the Outpatient Therapy Services Programs at Scottsdale Healthcare. Jerry has been a member of the Scottsdale Healthcare Therapy Services team since 1998. He holds a Bachelors of Health Sciences Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Missouri – Columbia and Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Northern Arizona University. Jerry instrumental in the strategic planning and implementation of the Balance and Vestibular and Outpatient Neurological Rehabilitation programs at Osborn Medical Center.
Mindy Richardson, PT, MA
Mindy is the Manager of the Therapy Programs at Scottsdale Healthcare Shea and Thompson Peak. She joined Scottsdale Healthcare in 2006, but has practiced in the Phoenix area since 1984. She holds a Masters Degree in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix, and a Bachelors Degree in Physical Therapy from Northeastern University. Mindy’s goal as the Manager is to provide educational opportunities for all clinicians to advance their specialty training and to provide the very best care for all of the patients served by the Therapy Services Department. Mindy recently received the Governor's appointment to the Arizona Board of Physical Therapy. Mindy is a 20 year member of the National and Arizona Physical Therapy Association and currently serves as Professional Member on the Arizona Board of Physical Therapy.
Balance and Vestibular Therapy Team
Colleen Coakley, PT, OCS, CIMT, CSCS
Colleen is the Lead Therapist in Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. She obtained her Bachelors degree in Biology from the University of Virginia and her Master's degree in Physical Therapy at Old Dominion University. She moved to Scottsdale in 1997 and has worked for Scottsdale Healthcare since that time. Colleen is a Certified Manual Therapist, a Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. This allows her to provide hands-on treatment and appropriate exercise instruction for multiple orthopedic, post-operative and sports medicine conditions. Colleen also has advanced training in Vestibular Rehabilitation and can evaluate and treat patients with dizziness and imbalance.
Michelle Cornwell, PT
Michelle graduated from Northern Arizona University in 1991 with a BS in Exercise Science. She earned her Masters degree in Physical Therapy from Northern Arizona University in 1994. Her clinical expertise involves treating patients suffering from neurological and vestibular disorders. Her credentials include Advanced Certification of Competency in Vestibular Rehabilitation. Michelle is creator and primary instructor of PT Management of Vestibular Disorders, a weekend training course for therapists in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with vestibular disorders. Michelle is an adjunct faculty member for Rio Salado College, teaching undergraduate anatomy and physiology to aspiring future healthcare professionals.
Sheri Donaldson, PT, DPT
Sheri earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 1997 from Creighton University immediately after which she accepted a position as Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy at University of Mobile. She pursued her passion for vestibular and neurological rehabilitation by earning her Certificate of Competency in Vestibular Rehabilitation through University of Miami School of Medicine in 1999. Dr. Donaldson earned her certificate in Advanced Vestibular Rehabilitation in 2003 at Emory University School of Medicine. She spent nearly 13 years as the primary vestibular therapist at St. Joseph’s Hospital/Barrow Neurological Institute and the former BNI Balance Center. Dr. Donaldson has Co-Chaired and has presented regularly for the Barrow Balance Symposia. She was a keynote speaker for the NAU Silver Anniversary High Altitude Lecture Series and developed and taught a vestibular course at The University of Missouri DPT program. She remains an active member of the Balance Board. One of her favorite patient populations includes the privilege of assisting people who have both traumatic brain injury and vestibular issues. Sheri is a member of the team at the Balance & Vestibular Center at both the Osborn and Thompson Peak locations.
Tanya Herman, PT, DPT
Tanya received her bachelor degree in Athletic Training from University of Florida in 2006 and graduated from Duke University in 2010 with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Her passion lies with working with the neurological populations, including spinal cord injury and stroke survivors and is currently practicing in the outpatient neurological setting at the Osborn and Shea campuses. She enjoys being involved in the community including coaching youth basketball. Tanya is certified in LSVT BIG, a specialized treatment for patients with Parkinson’s Disease.
Jamie Kuettel, PT, DPT
Jamie is an Arizona native who received her undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine in 2006 and her doctoral degree in physical therapy from A.T. Still University in 2010. Jamie developed a passion for neurologic rehabilitation after performing a research study involving stroke survivors and is currently practicing in the outpatient neurological setting at the Osborn campus. Her areas of clinical interest include providing specialized care to patients with diagnoses of stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and other neurological disorders. Jamie is certified in LSVT BIG, a specialized treatment for patients with Parkinson’s Disease.
Janet Nissly, PT
Janet graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Dallas in 1977 with a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy. Today she works in Outpatient Therapy Services at Osborn but has worked as a physical therapist for Scottsdale Healthcare in both inpatient and outpatient settings since 1977.
Janet’s clinical interests include adult orthopedics and balance impairment.
Madeline Ogles, PT, OCS
Madeline graduated from the University of Wisconsin in Madison in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy and has worked at Scottsdale Healthcare since 1995 in both the inpatient and outpatient settings, mainly at Osborn. She also became an Orthopedic Certified Specialist in 2011 through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialists.
She focuses her work on the adult population, primarily in orthopedics and geriatrics. She strives toward a hands-on, personal approach with an emphasis on each patient’s individual needs. She enjoys learning about her patient’s interests outside the clinic as well.
Erica Williams, PhD, CCC-A
Erica received her Bachelors of Science degree in Speech and Hearing Science in 2001 and her Masters of Science degree in 2003, both from Arizona State University. She has worked as a clinical audiologist in the Phoenix area, seeing both pediatric and adult patients, since 2003. Erica also has an interest in research, and completed her PhD at Arizona State University in 2010. Her research focused on the effects of cochlear hearing loss on auditory perception. Erica’s clinical interests lie primarily in the evaluation of the vestibular system in addition to pediatric hearing evaluations. She enjoys working with patients of all ages to make them feel at ease and comfortable during their visit.

Kelly Chavez-Allen, PT, DPT, CHT
Kelly is an Arizona native who graduated from University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science in Physiological Sciences in 1998 and received a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Northern Arizona University in 2001. It was during a physical therapy internship that she developed an interest in upper extremity rehabilitation. She worked in outpatient orthopedics following graduation and became a Certified Hand Therapist in 2007. Kelly's areas of clinical interest include rehabilitation following upper extremity trauma, post surgical rehabilitation and custom splinting. Kelly strives to provide personal and compassionate care to each and every one of her patients.
Stephen Desjardins, OTR/L, CHT
Stephen has over a decade of experience as an occupational therapist, primarily in hand and upper extremity rehabilitation. He graduated from the University of South Alabama with a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy in 1996, and received his Certification in Hand Therapy in 2007. Stephen specializes in rehabilitation of the hand and upper extremity following trauma, rehabilitation of upper extremity for pre and post surgical cumulative trauma disorders and fabrication of static, static-progressive and dynamic custom splints. Stephen’s clinical interests also include treatment of clients with arthritis of hand and upper extremity.
Neurological Therapy Team
Sharon Buchanan, OTR/L
Sharon has been practicing in the field of Occupational Therapy for many years. She graduated from San Jose State University in California and has been living in Arizona since 1999. Sharon has worked in a variety areas of OT including Inpatient and Outpatient rehabilitation, Home Health and research. Her area of clinical interest is working with neurological populations including stroke and Parkinson’s. Sharon Is LVST Big Certified, a specialized treatment for Parkinson’s disease. She has additional advanced training in Saebo, Bioness and Kiniesotaping. She is actively involved in stroke research for Upper Limb motor recovery and is working with Kinetic Muscles, Emory University and The Cleveland Clinic on a long term Telerehabilitation Study.

Kim Hook, OTR/L
Kim received her bachelor of science degree in Human Development and Family Sciences from Oregon State University in 1994. She earned her Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from Samuel Merritt College in Oakland, California in 2001. Continuing education is one of Kim’s passions in order to provide the best care possible to her patients. Her clinical interests including treating patients with Traumatic Brain Injury, Stroke, Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, and various orthopedic and medical conditions. Kim is certified in LSVT BIG, a specialized treatment for patients with Parkinson’s Disease.

Jessica Lasky, CFY-SLP
Jessica received her bachelor’s degree at Arizona State University in Communication Science and Disorders in 2009 and graduated from Northern Arizona University with her master’s degree in Clinical Speech-Language Pathology in 2011. She specializes in treatment of neurological conditions including stroke, traumatic brain injury, brain tumors, and also has special interest in diagnosis and treatment of dysphagia.
Mandy Mortenson, MA, CCC-SLP, CBIS
Mandy received both her Bachelor of Arts (2006) and Master of Arts (2008) degrees from the University of Northern Iowa. She currently holds a certificate of clinical competence from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association and an Arizona state license in Speech-Language Pathology. Additionally, she is certified as a brain injury specialist. Mandy has been working with individuals with neurological conditions for 9 years in various positions and settings. She specializes in treating patients with traumatic brain injury, stroke, brain tumors, and other neurological conditions.
Jamie Nesbit, PT, DPT
Jamie is an Arizona native who received her bachelor degree in Rehabilitative Studies from Stetson University in Deland, Florida on a women’s basketball scholarship. She then graduated from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri in 2011 with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Her clinical passion lies with working with the neurological population, including stroke survivors, Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis and brain injury. She currently is practicing in both the inpatient hospital and outpatient neurological setting at the Osborn campus.
Suzanne O'Neal, PT, DPT, NCS
Suzanne received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL and her Master of Science in Physical Therapy degree, also from the University of South Florida. She has strong interest in working with a wide variety of neurological diagnoses, including stroke, traumatic brain injuries and multiple sclerosis. She is an APTA Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Neurology. She joined Scottsdale Healthcare in 2011. She enjoys volunteering and is a clinical director for the Special Olympics in AZ, helping run the FunFitness athlete fitness assessments at the annual Summer and Fall games. Suzanne is certified in LSVT BIG, a specialized treatment for patients with Parkinson’s Disease.
Daphne Phillips, PhD, CCC-SLP
Dr. Phillips has been a Speech-Language Pathologist for 15 years, spending the majority of that time working with patients who have suffered neurogenic communication disorders due to stroke, head injury, brain tumor and progressive neurological disease. She also taught undergraduate and graduate level courses in psychology and speech pathology.
She holds a doctorate in Psychology with emphasis on Health Psychology and Behavioral Medicine. Her areas of interest/research include: aphasia, cognitive retraining and counseling in communicative disorders, student supervision, chronic illness and sleep disorders associated with aging and chronic illness. She is a certified Lee Silverman Voice Treatment Loud Clinician and coordinator for the Stroke Support Group at Osborn Medical Center.
Kim Pruden, M.S., CCC-SLP
Kim graduated from North Carolina State University in 2000 with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Science Disorders. She completed her Master’s degree in Clinical Speech-Language Pathology at Northern Arizona University in 2006. Kim has been working in the field of speech and language therapy for 9 years, evaluating and treating both pediatric and adult patients. She continues to divide her time between pediatric and adult patients who have cognitive-communication, speech and language, voice, and swallowing disorders. In her job Kim also supervises speech assistants and clinical fellows, educating and advising them, as they continue to cultivate their skills as clinicians. Kim is certified in LSVT LOUD, a specialized treatment for patients with Parkinson’s Disease.
Amy Sharp, OTR/L
Amy received her bachelor degree in Occupational Science and Health from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA and graduated with her Master’s of Occupational Therapy from Jefferson in 2011. Her background includes working with adults and children who have sustained traumatic injuries in a variety of setting. Her clinical interested include working with individuals who have sustained traumatic injuries, including spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, and stroke survivors. She also has a background in custom splint fabrication as well as in burn rehabilitation. Amy is currently practicing as a member of the outpatient neurological therapy and the inpatient Ortho/Neuro/Trauma therapy teams at the Osborn campus.
Terri Strelish MA, OTR/L, BCPR
Terri graduated from the University of Scranton in January 2001 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy. She completed her Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Texas Woman’s University in May 2009.
She has treated patients with neurological illnesses and injuries in a variety of settings including outpatient rehabilitation, inpatient rehabilitation and skilled nursing facilities.
Terri actively promotes the use of new technology to increase motor recovery and was instrumental in developing Scottsdale Healthcare’s OP Neurological Rehabilitation program since joining Scottsdale Healthcare in 2006. She is trained in NDT and has advanced training in Saebo. Her efforts to advance knowledge in the neurological rehabilitation field include clinical instruction for DPT students on patient handling, presentations on use of technology, research on electrical stimulation and consulting on the Hand Mentor. Terri is certified in LSVT BIG, a specialized treatment for patients with Parkinson’s Disease.
Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Team
Jeff Abernethy, PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT
Jeff graduated from Eastern Washington University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy. Jeff completed his Post-professional Doctorate in Physical Therapy in December of 2010, from Northern Arizona University. He has performed extensive work in outpatient orthopedics, specializing in manual and manipulative therapy. He became an Orthopedic Certified Specialist in 2008 through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialists.
He completed a clinical residency and fellowship through the Manual Therapy Institute and gained Fellowship status with the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapist.
Jeff is the system-wide OP Therapy Services Clinical Specialist/Educator and is a faculty member in Scottsdale Healthcare’s Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency Program. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of spine and extremity injuries.
Maureen Anderson, PT
Maureen holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy from the University of North Dakota. She has practiced in the Phoenix area since 1987 and at Scottsdale Healthcare since 1999.
She has extensive experience and knowledge working in the orthopedic outpatient setting with post surgical diagnoses and patients with neck and back dysfunction. Her special interest is in working to improve the quality of life and function levels with her total hip and knee patients.
Jodi Barnum, PT, DPT, OCS
Jodi obtained a Bachelors degree in Biology at Towson University in Baltimore, MD and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at NAU in Flagstaff, AZ in 2005. She has worked for Scottsdale Healthcare since that time specializing in diagnosing movement dysfunctions that can contribute to pain and injury. She recently completed the Orthopedic Residency Program for Physical Therapists and is certified by the American Physical Therapy Association as an orthopedic specialist in physical therapy. Jodi provides hands-on treatment to help regain joint and soft tissue mobility after surgical procedures such as knee and hip replacements. She has a strong knowledge in exercise prescription and is ASTYM certified. Her personal interests include running, organizing a boot camp fitness class, and spending time outdoors with her husband and two beautiful dogs.
Dania Barone, PT
Dania graduated from the University of Evansville in 2000 with a Master’s in Physical Therapy and joined Scottsdale Healthcare in 2005. She has practiced exclusively in the outpatient orthopedic setting with specific emphasis on the pre-operative and post-operative care of surgical patients. She is certified in ASTYM and has also pursued additional training in sports medicine rehabilitation and the management of workers injured on-the job.
Cheryl Belongie-Brown, PTA
Cheryl earned an Associate of Arts degree in 1988 in both Applied Science/ Physical Therapy Assistant and in General Studies from Pima Community College. She worked in Tucson for seven years before moving to Phoenix in 1995 and joined the Scottsdale Healthcare team.
With work experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings, Cheryl lists her areas of interests as amputees, geriatrics, orthopedics, fibromyalgia and post-surgical mastectomy patients. She provides patient-centered care, believing each patient is unique and, as such, each treatment should reflect that belief.
Colleen Coakley, PT, OCS, CIMT, CSCS

Joe Dahlin, PT
Joe obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho and his Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy in 1981 at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. He has worked as a Physical Therapist at Scottsdale Healthcare since 1982 in differing levels of administrative responsibilities but as of 2007 returned to his passion of full time patient care.
Joe specializes in the treatment of orthopedic conditions. He has completed the Scottsdale Healthcare Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency Program.
Kylie Eilders, PT, DPT
Kylie Eilders received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Northern Arizona University in 2005 and has practiced in an outpatient setting since graduation. Kylie is currently working on her manual certification through the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy, having completed 2 of the 4 levels. She emphasizes manual physical therapy in her treatment approach along with therapeutic exercise to return patients to pre-injury state. Kylie treats a variety of injuries from neck/back pain to foot and ankle disorders. Kylie also has a vested interest in treating the neurological population ranging from post-stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson’s Disease and various other neurological disorders.
Brittany Grasberger, PT, DPT
Brittany received her Bachelor of Science in Health Science at Saint Francis University in 2010. She continued her education at Saint Francis University earning her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in May 2012. Brittany has been a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist since December 2011. Brittany is participating in the Scottsdale Healthcare Orthopaedic Residency program in order to gain advanced knowledge and skills in orthopedic physical therapy.
Jennifer Hinsberger, PT, OCS, CSCS, PMA
Jennifer obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Exercise Physiology from University of Arizona in 1990 and continued her education at Wichita State University where she completed a Master’s in Physical Therapy in 1995. She has been part of the Scottsdale Healthcare Physical Therapy team since 1995.
Jennifer lectures in the Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency Program at Scottsdale Healthcare. She has a passion for treating disorders related to shoulders, knees, hips, ankles and pelvic dysfunctions. She has strong skills in soft tissue mobility and utilizes an individualized hands-on approach.
Jennifer is an American Physical Therapy Board Orthopedic Certified Specialist, a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and a nationally certified PMA Pilates instructor. Jennifer has been involved in teaching in the exercise industry for more than 20 years.
Griffin Lee, PT, DPT
Griffin attended Arizona State University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. Griffin then attended Duke University in North Carolina where he earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. Griffin works at Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn Medical Center Outpatient Therapy Services and has completed the Scottsdale Healthcare’s Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency Program.
Denise Nicoll, PT
Denise received a Masters in Physical Therapy from Washington University in St. Louis, and has been practicing as a physical therapist since 2000. She joined Scottsdale Healthcare in 2010. She has experience and training working with both the adult and pediatric populations. Her areas of expertise include manual therapy, sports medicine, post-surgical patients, custom foot orthotic evaluation/fabrication, torticollis, and pediatric development and orthopedic conditions. Denise truly enjoys her job as a physical therapist and is glad to be part of the team at SHC.

Maggie Ravenna, PT, DPT
Maggie received her Bachelor’s in Science/Pre-Physical Therapy at the University of Miami, FL in 2008. During her time at the “U”, she was also a member of the women’s varsity, Division I swim team. She continued her education at Washington University in St. Louis where she completed both a Doctorate in Physical Therapy as well as Masters in the Science of Clinical Investigation in 2012. Maggie is currently one of three individuals participating in the Scottsdale Healthcare Orthopeadic Residency Program. This program is designed to provide her with advanced skills in examination and treatment of various orthopedic conditions. She is eager to blend her knowledge of detecting various movement impairments with manual techniques to best treat patients with chronic and acute orthopedic pathologies.
Matthew Schroeder, PT, DPT, OCS
Matt graduated from Occidental College in Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Kinesiology before going to physical therapy school at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina where he graduated in 2004. He began his physical therapy career in Phoenix where he worked in a private practice setting that focused on rehabilitating patients following industrial injuries.
Matt moved to Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn full-time in 2006 and became the Orthopedic/Workers’ Compensation Lead. He became a diplomat of the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialists in Orthopedics in 2008.
He has assisted in developing the Scottsdale Healthcare Orthopedic Residency Program and serves as its Director. In addition to his duties at Scottsdale Healthcare, Matt is an instructor for the Scottsdale Healthcare Family Practice Physician Residency Program and frequently lectures in the A.T. Cindy Wissink-Ghost, PT
Cindy earned her Master’s in Physical Therapy from the University of Southern California in 1993. She has worked for Scottsdale Healthcare since 1997. Her clinical background includes treating patients with orthopedic injuries using a manual therapy and exercise approach. Cindy’s areas of interest include a wide variety of diagnoses including injuries of the ankle, shoulder, knee, back and neck as well as work related injuries.
John Zapanta, PT, DPT
John graduated from Creighton University with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science in 2007 and received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Regis University in Denver, Colorado in 2012. John is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist since 2008 and is currently completing the Scottsdale Healthcare’s Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency program to advance his knowledge in examination and treatment of orthopaedic disorders. John’s clinical interest is in treating both neuromuscular and orthopaedic conditions while integrating a patient-centered hands-on approach to rehabilitation. In addition to cultivating his interest in manual therapy, John has research experience in Parkinson’s Disease and Brain Injuries, specifically in the Minimally Conscious State. John’s passions include expanding access and excelling physical therapy services internationally. He has participated in healthcare trips in Peru, Mexico, Tanzania, and the Dominican Republic.
Pelvic / Urinary Disorders Team
Karen Rike, PT
Karen joined the Outpatient Physical Therapist specialist team at the Shea campus in 2009. Since 1998, Karen has specialized in the treatment of pelvic pain and urinary incontinence disorders. She has completed extensive coursework and training in this unique specialty. She recently expanded her practice to include the evaluation and treatment of general orthopedic disorders and injuries. Karen received her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in 1998 from the Medical College of Ohio. She has completed extensive coursework in women’s health physical therapy and is a member of the National Vulvodynia Society. She provides patient-centered care and enjoys helping patients improve the quality of their lives. In her free time Karen enjoys playing tennis, hiking, and spending time with family.
Pediatrics Team
Erin Naumann, CCC-SLP
Erin graduated from Catawba College in 2004 with a Bachelors of Science in Communications and Northern Arizona University in 2006 with a Masters in Speech Language Pathology. Erin has worked at Scottsdale Healthcare since 2007. Erin's specialty is in the assessment and treatment of swallowing disorders and is certified in the procedure of Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES). Erin currently works with pediatric patients in the NICU, acute care, and outpatient settings.
Jacki Nothwehr, PT
Jacki graduated from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri in 1983 with BS in Physical Therapy. She has practiced in various clinical settings including adult and pediatric neuro-rehab, OP orthopedics, and acute care settings. Jacki has practiced with Scottsdale Healthcare since 1991, with the last 3 years focusing in the women’s/children’s service line. Her clinical interests include antepartum care, developmental care in the neonatal intensive care unit, the treatment of torticollis in infants and toddlers, and developmental delays.
Maureen Radomski, PT
Maureen graduated from AT Still University in 1999 with a masters in Physical Therapy. She joined Scottsdale Healthcare in 2010. She has experience and training in Pediatrics, Neuro-rehab and Acute care settings. Her clinical interests include infants and children with Developmental Delay, Torticollis, and Orthopedic injuries.
Mishelle Rudzinski, MA, CCC-SLP
Mishelle graduated from Reed College in 1988 with a Bachelors of Arts in English Literature and the University of Oregon in 1992 with a Masters in Communication Disorders and Sciences. Mishelle has worked at Scottsdale Healthcare since 2009. Mishelle is NDT trained and specializes in augmentative/alternative communication and pediatric dysarthria. She also has experience in the areas of pediatric articulation and language disorders. Mishelle currently works with pediatric patients in the outpatient setting.
Lori Sletten, OTR/L, OTD
Lori is the Lead Therapist for Pediatric and Women’s Services at Scottsdale Healthcare Shea. In 2004, she obtained her doctorate in Occupational Therapy at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. She has worked at Scottsdale Healthcare since 2005 focusing on expanding Pediatric Therapy Services in the neonatal intensive care unit, acute care hospital and outpatient settings. Her clinical interests are working with infants and children with developmental, congenital, neurological and orthopedic injuries.
Speech and Swallowing Disorders Team
Christine Henderson, MCD, CCC-SLP
Christine received her Bachelor of Sciences degree in Speech & Hearing Sciences from Arizona State University and her Master of Communication Disorders degree from Louisiana State University Medical Center. She completed her Clinical Fellowship Year at the University of Texas Health Science Center and MD Anderson Cancer Research Hospital. Christine holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and an Arizona state license in Speech and Language Pathology. Christine joined Scottsdale Healthcare in 1999. Christine evaluates and treats patients with cognitive-communication and speech and language deficits. She specializes in the areas of voice disorders including vocal cord dysfunction and swallowing disorders seen in patients with Parkinson’s disease or head/neck cancer. Christine is certified in the LSVT LOUD Program for patients with Parkinson’s Disease, and is VitalStim licensed and certified. She co-facilitates the SPOHNC Support group for those with head and neck cancers at the Virginia G. Piper Cancer Center.
Sue Okun, MSCCC-SLP
Sue received her Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY. She completed her Master’s of Science degree in Speech and Hearing Science at Arizona State University. Sue holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and an Arizona state license in Speech Pathology. She has served on the Board of the Arizona Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Since 1990, Sue has specialized in the evaluation and treatment of swallowing disorders. She works closely with Radiologists to complete and interpret swallowing studies under fluoroscopy and she is VitaStim certified.
