Our Expert Physicians

Our expert physicians are on staff at Arizona Oncology and provide cancer transplant services primarily at the Virginia G. Piper Cancer Center at Scottsdale Healthcare.


Dr. Jeffrey Schriber
Medical Director, Bone Marrow Transplant Program
Dr. Schriber has 25 years of experience in Hematology and Bone Marrow Transplantation. After completing his internship in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Hematology at the University of Toronto, as well as a fellowship in Bone Marrow Transplantation at Stanford University Medical Center, Dr. Schriber served as Assistant Professor of Medicine at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, New York. He was also the Medical Director of the Banner Blood and Marrow Transplant program and Medical Director for City of Hope at Banner.

Dr. Schriber has been involved in over 15 different research studies over the years and has been noted in over 37 publications and over 41 abstracts. Also to note, he holds many professional appointments and is a member of numerous societies including the American Society of Hematology, American Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation, American Society of Clinical Oncology and HHS Advisory Council on Blood Stem Cell Transplantation.

 

Dr. Adrienne Briggs
Medical Director, Apheresis Stem Cell Program
Dr. Briggs specializes in Malignant Hematology and Stem Cell Transplantation and has over 20 years of clinical experience. She completed her internal medicine internship, residency in Hematology/Oncology and fellowships in Bone Marrow Transplant at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Dr. Briggs served as Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at the University of Arizona and Arizona Cancer Center from 1996 through 2005. During that time, she was also the Director of Stem Cell Apheresis of the Bone Marrow Transplant Program, as well as Clinical Director, from 2003 to 2005. Dr. Briggs joined the City of Hope Bone Marrow Transplant Program in 2006, as Director of Apheresis. The program later was renamed the Banner Blood and Marrow Transplant Program, where she remained Director of Apheresis until late 2011. At that time, she was recruited to Arizona Oncology to serve as Director of Apheresis for the newly created Cancer Transplant Institute, an AO affiliated program for Stem Cell Transplantation.

Dr. Briggs has been involved in many cooperative group and institute-driven research studies over the years, resulting in numerous publications and book chapters. She is a member of the American Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation, American Society of Hematology and American Society of Clinical Oncology. She a member of the "Best Doctors" international database, recognized for her experience and expertise in Malignant Hematology and Stem Cell Transplantation.
