BMI Calculator

BMI stands for "body mass index," a numerical value of your weight in relation to your height. BMIs are good indicators of healthy weights for adult men and women. Higher BMIs (30+) are associated with significantly increased health risks in some people. 

The Center for Disease Control has determined that morbid obesity is the #1 health problem in the United States responsible for 300,000 deaths annually. One in five - or 50 million - Americans are obese while 8-10 million are morbidly obese.

Morbid obesity is defined as a BMI score of 40 or more. Individuals qualifying for the surgery typically have a BMI of 35-39 with significant health problems or a BMI over 40 predisposing patients to future health problems. To calculate your BMI:
