Certified Chest Pain Centers

Heart and Vascular Services at Scottsdale Healthcare

We Take Your Health to Heart

Scottsdale Healthcare offers a variety services, the latest technology, nationally prominent cardiologists and cardiovascular surgeons as well as screening and educational opportunities to maximize your heart health. Several investigational studies are underway which makes Scottsdale Healthcare the only place in the state to offer unique treatment modalities.

All three Scottsdale Healthcare hospitals—Scottsdale Healthcare Shea Medical Center, Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn Medical Center and Scottsdale Healthcare Thompson Peak Hospital—are accredited as Certified Chest Pain Centers, recognizing the quality care provided to chest pain patients and collaboration with local emergency medical services.

Accreditation as a Chest Pain Center means each hospital meets or exceeds a wide set of stringent criteria and completed on-site evaluations by the Society of Chest Pain Centers.

Scottsdale Healthcare Thompson Peak Hospital received full Cycle II accreditation, an advanced designation due to its ability to provide a higher level of care through detailed coordination of emergency services among clinical staff and departments, as well as with emergency medical personnel.

Scottsdale Healthcare Shea Medical Center and Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn Medical Center have earned Cycle II accreditation with PCI, indicating the further ability to perform percutaneous coronary intervention or angioplasty. Angioplasty is a procedure in which a balloon-like device is placed into a coronary artery to remove blockages that cause heart attack.

Chest Pain Center designation affirms that Scottsdale Healthcare has coordinated training and care between local emergency medical service providers and the hospitals’ emergency departments, cardiac cath labs and cardiologists in treating patients with chest pain and heart attacks.
